PLUMBER The Salem Housing Authority is seeking a licensed plumber to join our excellent team. The applicant is required to have a Massachusetts Plumbing License and Massachusetts Driver's License . Job details include SERVICE PLUMBING, performing skilled plumbing and mechanical system tasks involving the installation, modification, and maintenance of plumbing, heating, and ventilation systems of buildings, apartments, and general facilities. This position includes the upkeep and repair of buildings and grounds at all of the Salem Housing Authority's 23 properties. The applicant must possess general knowledge of building maintenance, ability to read and understand written instructions, working knowledge and skill in all matters related to plumbing, electricity, heating, carpentry, painting, and mechanical equipment, knowledge of national, state, and local plumbing codes, the ability to install plumbing systems, the ability to operate a motor vehicle, and have a great know ledge of tools. This job requires the applicant to carry a cell phone and be on call on a rotating basis. The applicant will be able to pass a Massachusetts criminal offender record information (CORI) screening and to pass a physical examination and a drug screening (not marijuana). A High School diploma (or equivalent) is required. The successful candidate will be professional, conduct, and comply with the requirements of the position. This position has a six month probationary period. This is a 40 hour pe r week, full time, union position, with excellent benefits. The hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4pm. On call rotation responsibilities includes a stipend. Pay rate is determined by the rates set forth through the Department of Labor.
