Employment Opportunity Salem Housing Authority Maintenance Laborer The Salem Housing Authority (SHA) is seeking qualified applicants for a position in the Maintenance Department. Base wage rate for this position is $30.97 per hour based on a 40-hour work week. Normal working hours are Monday - Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Additional compensation is paid for on-call and after-hours services. The Maintenance Laborer works under the general supervision of the Director of Maintenance, and performs semi-routine and diversified duties in connection with the maintenance and upkeep of the buildings and grounds of the Authority's elderly, family and special needs housing developments. The Laborer performs a variety of maintenance duties such as cutting grass, snow removal, trash removal, cleaning and painting of apartments and common areas, performing minor plumbing & heating repairs, providing labor support to other maintenance employees and any other tasks as assigned. General knowledge of maintenance systems, building equipment and small tools is required. Must possess a valid driver's license, be insurable under Housing Authority insurance and have the ability to lift fifty (75) pounds. Applicants will be expected to go on call on a rotating basis and be available for snow removal.
