Maintenance-Assistant The Manchester Housing Authority (MHA) is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time position in the Maintenance Department. Base wage rate for this position is $32.64 per hour based on a 15-hour work week. Flexible working hours are Monday - Friday 8 am-4 pm. and emergency coverage as needed. This position requires a highly motivated and detailed individual and work in a professional and courteous manner within a service environment. The Maintenance Assistant works under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and performs routine and diversified duties in connection with the maintenance and the upkeep of 16 buildings and the grounds at 3 locations. Duties: cutting grass, snow removal, trash removal, cleaning and painting of apartments and common areas, performing minor plumbing & heating repairs, providing labor support to maintenance and other tasks as assigned. Courtesy to residents and members of the general public. The ability to follow and give oral and written direction and procedures. Work with other staff in a cooperative manner is essential. General knowledge of maintenance systems, building equipment and small tools is required. Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to lift fifty (50) pounds. Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screening and physical exam.
