GLOUCESTER HOUSING AUTHORITY POSITION AVAILABLE: MAINTENANCE MECHANIC/ELECTRICIAN: This is a highly skilled position requiring an Electrician Journeyman's or higher license, as the incumbent will act as the primary applicant for electrical permits. RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs a wide range of electrical, building, grounds and facilities repair and maintenance functions. Areas of expertise include electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, flooring, snow removal, grounds maintenance, and HVAC. Should have a broad range of experience in several of the above noted areas at a skill level normally required of a journeyman or higher. When on 24 hr. call must always be within a 30-minute drive of the GHA developments. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must obtain a passing grade on a GHA Maintenance exam. Must be capable of providing on-call emergency coverage approximately every 7 weeks on a rotation basis. Must be in good physical health, possess a valid MA Driver's License, have reliable transportation and be able to lift 70 lb. objects. Trade licenses/certifications are highly desirable. Bi-lingual a plus. Full benefits (health insurance, dental, City retirement program). 40hrs/wk. AFSCME (union), $42.91/per hour (with electrician license), $36.70/per hour (no electrician license) plus an on-call stipend. Position open until December 6, 2024 or when filled.
